A former governor of Enugu State, Senator Dr. Chimaroke Nnamani, has won the Enugu East Senatorial District primaries of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP.

He polled 597 votes to beat the incumbent Senator Gil Emeka Nnaji who got 69 votes while Prince Lawrence had 25 votes. Agu Gab Agu – 8 votes, Chinedu Nneji – 8 votes, while Prof Nkworr Ngene got 4 votes.

These were tallied from five (5) LGA’s out of the 6 LGA’s that make up Enugu East Senatorial District.
