An investigation by the EFCC started after a petition was written by Chief Harrison Ogara and Unadu, a Community in Igbo-Eze South LGA of Enugu State for alleged conspiracy with P.W Nig. Ltd and misappropriation of constituency project fund of 13 billion naira paid by the Federal Government of Nigeria for contract No. 6170 : Ogrute/Umuida/Unadu/akpanya/Odolu road rehabilitation contract.

Recall that in an acknowledgment letter by EFCC through Ogara’s lawyer, Barr. Ugochukwu Eze, the government agency says, “We acknowledge the receipt of your petition written on behalf of Chief Harrison Ogara against P.W Nig. Ltd and Hon. Ayogu Eze and wish to inform you that the investigation into your matter has commenced”

But not too long after the letter, the EFCC visited Unadu, the site of the project and other communities involved to verify the claims of the petitioners.

Prior to the EFCC involvement, Unadu had been in court with P.W Nig. Ltd to claim damages for the destruction of Unadu water piping network, leaving the road in a worse state than before and causing untold hardship to the lives and economy of the community and its surrounding.

However, there has not been any report of the EFCC inviting the former senator for questioning as at press time.
