It was a day of joy in Alor-Agu community, Igbo-Eze South Local Government Area of Enugu state when members of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP in the area trouped out en mass to welcome the anointed David; Comrade Peter Andy Omeje, the party’s flag bearer for the February 29th chairmanship elections in the area.
Comrade Andy Omeje represented on the campaign visit by his running mate, Chief Ejike Amedu was received amidst jubilation by the people of Alor-Agu ward.
Commending the state Governor, Chief Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi for making Andy Omeje his choice for the Local Government Area elections, the former chairman of the council who hails from the ward, Chief Christopher Omeje assured the group of their readiness to vote massively for Comrade Andy Omeje, noting that all they need from him is to remember Alor-Agu community in his administration.
The former chairman expressed optimism over the victory of Peter Andy, saying they might not need monitoring team during the election exercise due to the overwhelming support he has in Alor-Agu ward.
‘’We may not need monitoring team in our ward, wait for our results in the Local Government, we love our true son, Andy Peter, we know what he can do for us, we love him” Chief Omeje jokes.
Also speaking, the Enugu state Project Coordinator, NEWMAP, Barr Vin Egechukwu Obetta reiterated his support for Comrade Andy Omeje, adding that they would do all they could to ensure his victory in the forthcoming Local Government elections.
According to Barr Obetta also from the area, Alor-Agu people see Andy Omeje as their brother who would give them what they want when he assumes office, and as a result would give him all the necessary supports in the exercise.
Earlier in his speech, the Director General of the campaign organization in Alor-Agu ward and Secretary of the group in the council, Barister Cosmas Ugwu while welcoming the team, pleaded that the ward should not be forgotten after the exercise, stressing that their votes wholly belong to the people’s choice, Comrade Andy Omeje of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP come February 29.
Similarly, the Director General of the campaign organization in the Local Government, Hon. James Olibe thanked Alor-Agu people for their good conduct during the visit and promised to convey their messages to the boss.
The visit had in attendance many PDP stakeholders from the ward, including the PDP Chairman, Alhaji Suleiman Dede Ayogu, the councilor, Barr Chuks Omeke, CEO Golden Valley Hotels Nsukka, Chief Joel Ugwoke, SA to the governor on New Media, Mr. Jonathan Emmanuel and many others from within and outside Alor-Agu community.
