Massive protest rocked two of the six local government areas whose chairmen were suspended by Benue State House of Assembly on Tuesday.

Protesters trooped to the streets in Gboko and Kwande local Government areas to protest the suspension, describing it as unacceptable, The Nation reports.

In Gboko town, the traditional headquarters of the Tiv, protesters who were mostly supporters of the All Progressive Congress (APC) took over major streets with placards, dancing and singing solidarity songs.

They made bon fire with tyres and marched from one major street to another in protest.
