The Enugu State chapter of All Progressives Congress (APC) has suspended Comrade Adolphus Ude for anti-party activities and insubordination to the party authorities.

This decision was made known after the meeting of the State Working Committee (SWC) of APC loyal Hon. Deacon Okey Ogbodo and the Honourable Minister for Foreign Affairs, H.E Geoffrey Onyeama.

According to the statement, “Ude was this afternoon suspended for six months for deliberately upstaging the SWC, and grossly violating the provisions of Article 21 of the Constitution of the All Progressives Congress (APC) (2014) as amended.” It stated further, “A committee was set up for further investigation and recommendations to the party”.

The trouble of Mr. Ude started on January 23rd, when he unilaterally submitted names of Candidates for the Enugu State Local Government Elections to Enugu State Independent Electoral Commission (ENSIEC) on APC behalf without directives. He claimed that primary elections were conducted on January 21st. He also made claims that he has the power to sign and submit the Candidates list as the Pioneer Deputy State Chairman of APC and as Enugu State Youth Coordinator, President Muhammedu Buhari Re-run Campaign 2019.

The APC in the State has condemned his act and disassociated itself from the alleged list and the said Local Government Elections scheduled for 29/02/2019.

Reacting to the suspension, the Enugu North Zonal Chairman of APC, Mr. Chinedu Okosis, welcomed the development, saying the suspension is deserving.

“Nothing can be more deserving to a man with such a reckless and overbearing excesses. A man with unrepentant penchant to subvert constituted party authorities and hierarchy. Enough of the impunity and suppression of reason. The suspension is a welcome development. Nobody is above the parry”, he said.
