ENUGU ROYAL FATHER ADVISES NIGERIANS TO SHUN KILLINGS, SAYS NO TRIBE IS SUPERIOR TO OTHERS

…Crop farmers need their crops as herders need their cattle – Aruma tells govt.

Currently, Nigerians are experiensing so many strange happenings ranging from Killings, burning of residential houses, offices as well as abduction across the country.

This made so many personalities, including christian and Muslim clergies, royal fathers and top politicians to continue to call on the government for calm.
In an interview with the traditional ruler of Nru Nsukka Autonomous Community in Nsukka Local Government area of Enugu State, Igwe Silvanus Aruma, he advised Nigerians to live in peace with one another in oder to progress.
The traditional ruler, Igwe Aruma gave the advice while speaking with the TheSlides on the recent killings across the country.

“It is unfortunate that Nigeria is in this condition, but I advise every citizen of this country to embrace peace, live in peace with one another for us to progress”, Aruma advised.

The royal father said Nigerians especially in this period of Easter celebration, the need to avoid engaging in activities that would trigger violence in the country.
He called on government at all levels to put in place suitable measures that would contain the menace, stressing that if such continues citizens will live in fear wherever they reside in the country.

Igwe Aruma frowned at the recent clashes between the Fulani herders and farmers in Adani, Uzo-Uwani Local Government Area of Enugu State, which resulted to killings of some individuals, noting that such incident was not healthy for a country like Nigeria.

“The recent killings in Adani Uzo-Uwani is disheartening; this is a Local Government that lost so many people to herders/farmers clashes few years ago.
“Government need to beef up security in such areas, please”, He said.
According to him, no tribe is more important than the other in Nigeria and thus need to shun ethnic or religious based violence in the country.
He further charged personnel in the security sector to be sincere in discharging their duties, to enable the country achieve relative peace.
