The Deputy National Chairman (South) of All Progressives Congress, APC, Chief Hon. Emma Eneukwu has assured the people of Enugu State that he has come to deliver them from the bondage imposed on them by the current leadership of the state.
He said this while addressing party faithfuls during his homecoming reception in Enugu on Saturday.
Recall that Hon. Emma Eneukwu was elected on consensus in the just concluded APC Convention in Eagle Square Abuja, after the former Senate President, Sen. Ken Nnamadi purportedly withdrew from the race.
In his speech, Emma Eneukwu faulted the PDP slogan: “Enugu State is in the hands of God”. He said it is rather in the hands of tyrants, and further promised that APC will take over the leadership to redeem the state from their hands.
The statement reads in parts:
“Time is now for us to take over… We have come to take over. We have come to give Enugu State a new leadership and by the emergence of this leadership, everything about factions within the APC is killed. We are one united body moving to take over the leadership of Enugu State. And by the grace of God, with this leadership, I promise that the next election is not going to be the same again. We have come to work and deliver our people from bondage.
“They say Enugu State is in the hands of God but you know it is all lies. Enugu State is in the hands of tyrants. If we can change the leadership, Enugu State will become a better place for all of us. It is not going to be one man’s struggle, it is a united struggle and the victory is for all of us.”
Emma Eneukwu who was welcomed by the state chairman, Hon. Ugochukwu Agballah, came alongside the APC National Vice Chairman (South East), Dr. Ijeomah Arodiogbu, Zonal Women Leader (South East), Hon. Diyiokeh Uchenna, Anambra State APC Chairman, one of the governorship aspirants, Barr. George Ogara and host of other APC chieftains.
