Former governorship aspirant of the People’s Democratic Party, (PDP), and the immediate past commissioner for environment in Enugu State, Hon. Barr. Chijioke Jonathan Edeoga has reportedly picked the Enugu Labour Party Governorship ticket.

This was made known by the State Publicity Secretary of the Labour Party, Mr. Ibuchukwu Ezike on Saturday. He said that Barr. Edeoga has been confirmed as the guber candidate of the Party for the 2023.

Recall that Hon. Edeoga, resigned his position to contest the Governorship election on the platform of the People’s Democratic Party, PDP but lost to Mr. Peter Mbah.

Efforts to confirm the development from Edeoga himself failed as his mobile phones were switched off.

However, the news of his emergence as the Labour Party’s candidate has generated mixed reactions from the public regarding the legal implications of his double nomination considering the new Electoral Act which forbids multiple nomination in the same election.
