The Chairman of All Progressives Congress, APC, Enugu chapter, Deacon Okey Ogbodo has restated that Barr. George Ogara Tabugbo is the APC governorship candidate in the state. This is to discredit the claims by one former Senator, Ayogu Eze who claims to have emerged in a parallel primaries.

Ogbodo made this known in an interview with Seun Okinbaloye on Channels Television on Tuesday. According to him Enugu State party faithfuls are not on the know about Senator Ayogu Eze emergence.

“I am not aware of any primaries where he (Ayogu) emerged as gubernatorial candidate of Enugu State APC for 2019 general election. All that I am aware, and it happened in my ward is the emergence of Barr. George Ogara Tabugbo; that is the candidate for 2019 general election” he said.

He continued, “there is no way one will say Ayogu Eze emerged. Where did he emerge in the first instance? Where did he contest? In which primaries? Who was in the primaries where he contested and won? It is not possible he won. First and foremost, he is not even into the configuration in the first instance. It is yet to become a law of the party. He merely registered on the party on the 15th of August, this year.”

According to him Ayogu Eze is not even eligible, following the guidelines of the party that demands a candidate to have been a member of the party for not less than 12 months before contesting. He said by this Ayogu Eze is automatically disqualified.
