The leader of All Progressives Congress and the party’s gubernatorial candidate, Chief Uchenna Nnaji has appealed to the National leadership of the APC and the presidential candidate, Asiwaju Ahmed Tinubu to withhold the Enugu State Campaign Fund and allow him to personally sponsor the party to victory in the 2023 general elections.
Chief Uchenna made this appeal during a well attended stakeholders meeting in Enugu on Sunday organized by the Enugu APC Candidates Forum. This is coming after ten party members led by former Senate President, Senator Ken Nnamani visited the National Chairman of APC in Abuja to demand the removal of the State Chairman, Hon. Ugochukwu Agballa.

He noted that the internal crisis in the party is caused by people who are only interested in the campaign fund but are not ready to win election.
“The same set of people did it in 2015 and repeated the worst in 2019. They have come again this time, just 6 months into the elections.
“I will personally visit Tinubu and appeal to him to withhold the campaign fund meant for Enugu State because it will cause more trouble in our party, however we may seek for refund after winning the election.

We don’t want to play Abuja politics in Enugu but grass root politics because these people are APC in Abuja and PDP in Enugu.
We believe that anybody who has the interest of the party will support the party. You can not call yourself a stakeholder when you can not support your ward to even renew a one-room office rent. What we want in Enugu APC are stakeholders and not ‘takeholders’.” he said.
Meanwhile, the State Working Committee, the State Executive Committee, the State APC Candidates Forum and the 17 LG Chairmen have passed a vote of confidence on the State Chairman, Hon. Ugochukwu Agballa, countering the demand for the removal of the chairman.
