The APC aspirant who purportedly emerged as a candidate in a controversial primaries, Senator Ayogu Eze is in trouble as Federal High Court, Abuja has ordered him to stop parading himself as the APC gubernatorial candidate in Enugu State.

According to the Suit No FHC/ABJ/CS/1305/2018 between Barr. George Ogara as the plaintiff, and Senator Ayogu Eze, Adams Oshiomhole, Prof. Moses Momoh, All Progressives Congress, and Independent National Electoral Commission as the defendants, Barr. George Ogara challenged Ayogu Eze membership of APC for at least one year prior to 4th October, 2018 fixed for Enugu State Governorship Direct Primary Election that qualified him to contest.

The suit also restrains Adams Oshiomhole and the All Progressives Congress, APC from submitting any name to INEC other than Barr. George Ogara on the ground that Barr. George Ogara scored the highest number of votes in the direct primaries held in the 260 Wards of the 17 Local Government Areas of Enugu State.

Recall that in the APC governorship direct primaries conducted on 4th of October, 2018 in Enugu State, Barr. George Ogara scored 57, 625 votes while Ayogu Eze scored 7, 690 votes, with George Ogara declared winner of the contest.

But on the following day, 5th of October, another result which was alleged to have be written in a popular hotel within Enugu, emerged with Ayogu Eze as the highest scorer.

As a result, there has been war of words, Allegations upon allegations, between the camp of Deacon Okey Ogbodo and that of Ben Nwonye. While the Ogbodo camp is mainly the foundation APC members, the Nwonye camp house majority of the PDP decampees. This has caused many to allege that the Nwonye camp is being sponsored by the PDP to cause confusion in APC in Enugu State to enable PDP retain the seat of government.

Recently, Ayogu Eze allegedly sponsored a Vanguard Newspaper publication showing himself as the governorship candidate of APC in Enugu State. In the publication, South-East topped the group, with Enugu State as the first in the list, purportedly to showcase Ayogu Eze.

The publication necessitated the legal response by Barr. George Ogara, seeking justice to prevail over the alleged manipulation.
