The All Progressives Congress, (APC) Deputy Governorship Candidate in Enugu State, Barr. George Ogara Tabugbo has revealed more plans of the hopeful APC-led administration to Nsukka zone if voted into power on March 11th, 2023.
He said that the APC government shall revive the Adada Campus of the Enugu State University of Science and Technology (ESUT) by creating faculties and departments that are important and relevant to the resources in the region. He went further to particularly mention some resources such as land, water, oil and gas, that require relevant research-centered institutions and manpower.
Ogara said this in an exclusive interview with The Slides after the APC campaign rally in Nsukka on Friday.
He said that a man without vision, Dr. Chimaroke Nnamani, a formal governor of the state collapsed an already existing Campus in Uzo-Uwani which could have been an
agent of awareness, self-realization, development and great stimulant to economic prosperity of the area.
“Visionless to use our common wealth to rehabilitate the Nkpologu Airstrip, visionless to dredge the Adada River but very selfish to use our common wealth to build his personal university and other institutions, few of which have been confiscated by the Federal Government through the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, (EFCC).” he said
“Worse of them all is the current governor, Gov. Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi, who happens to come from the zone but could not leave any significant legacy in Nsukka. He didn’t do anything elsewhere either, except the ‘Center-table Flyover’ he poorly completed in Nike, as against the beautiful flyovers scattered allover the nooks and crannies of Ebonyi State with relatively low federal allocation”, he added.
“It is my Joy and that of Nsukka people that a man without any criminal record nor public financial recklessness, who is not from Nsukka is offering to revive and resuscitate Nsukka by building a 10 Megawatts Captive Power, rehabilitation of Nkpologu airstrip, dredging of Adada River, Reactivation of agriculture sector, reviving the Adada Campus and many other people oriented programs”, Ogara continued.
He stated that the leader of his party, the Governorship Candidate, Chief Uche Nnaji Nwakaibie has promised to make Enugu State an oil producing state by working with the relevant agencies in the federal and state levels. The proposed 10 Megawatts Captive Power shall be powered by gas, and by extension, there is plan to build gas treatment plant. All these will create thousands of job for our youths and insecurity will be reduced.” He said.
Coincidentally, George Ogara is knowledgeable in oil and gas industry having been in resolution and litigation in the industry for over 20 years in the Niger Delta.
When asked about his ordeal with the Disciplinary Committee of the Nigeria Bar Association (NBA) on alleged petition against him by the Governorship Candidate of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), Dr. Peter Mbah, he said that currently, such thing doesn’t exist and there is nothing to worry about. “PDP was just looking for a space to breathe out of frustrations,” he concluded.
