The Enugu State APC governorship candidate, Senator Ayogu Eze surprised many APC members in Enugu on Friday by his manner of greetings to the incumbent governor and the PDP governorship candidate of Enugu State, Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi.

Eze was seen raising the hand of the governor just as a referee does to a winner of a contest or a representative of a political party presenting its flag bearer. This happened when the Vice President, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo visited Enugu State for a book lunch by the former governor of the state, Sullivan Chime titled ‘An Honour to Service : Enugu State in the Sullivan Years’.

This has caused so many critics and sparked various reactions across the state. According to some allegation, “Ayogu Eze has been in PDP since his political career, he just ‘joined’ APC few months back, probably to facilitate the easy defeat of APC by the PDP in the 2019 general election. His political romance, nocturnal visits and the rhythmic deceitful dance corresponds to the PDP drummers. Ayogu Eze has openly accepted defeat in the presence of the Vice President and has congratulated Ugwuanyi for the ‘game’ well planned.”

Barr. George Ogara when contacted reacted, “Now, the people of Enugu have seen who is the real PDP mole in APC. But we are on top of the matter. We shall recover the mandate”.

Prof. Osibanjo himself was not left unsurprised as he smartly added in his statement, “The problem of our country is finding
forthright men in positions of authority”. It seems Mr. Vice President did not see any sincerity in the body language of the former senator.

Recall that Barr. George Ogara challenged the candidacy of Ayogu Eze in court. The matter was adjourned to 21st of December 2018 for hearing.
